Features of Design in Restoration Works

The preparation of a restoration project differs in many respects from the design of new buildings. First of all, the design object—for example, an architectural monument—cannot be recreated, as it already exists. Therefore, the characteristics and condition of the existing structure largely determine the main content of the project being developed.

An important component of the project is the justification of scientific and design solutions. Without this, it is impossible to form a correct understanding of the essence and, even more so, the feasibility of the proposed restoration. In many cases, research materials and scientific justifications exceed the volume of the design materials themselves. The structure and presentation format of project documentation also have specific features.

A restoration project, like any project, consists of a certain program of activities. However, while in a conventional architectural project this program is mainly presented as a final result, in restoration projects more attention is paid to what exists and how it is, although it also provides information about the expected appearance of the monument after restoration. An important feature of restoration design is its close connection with the implementation process.

Protection of Cultural Heritage

The liberation of Karabakh has placed very important tasks before our people and state, requiring joint efforts. The restoration of previously occupied regions, cities, and villages in a new quality, adapted to modern requirements, is one of the main goals.

BIMD CJSC is committed to contributing to the protection of cultural heritage and the restoration of liberated territories by applying modern approaches and technologies. We intend to apply the experience gained from implemented projects in future works as well.
