Restoration of a Historical and Architectural Monument Located in the City of Ordubad

Located in the center of Ordubad city in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Ordubad Madrasa dating back to the 18th century is one of the rare historical monuments that has preserved the features of early Azerbaijani architecture. According to researchers, this building is considered the only surviving example of a classical madrasa in Azerbaijan that has remained intact to the present day.

Having withstood the passage of centuries, the monument stands out for its rich architectural heritage and historical significance. Despite the effects of time, the madrasa has preserved much of its originality and today requires not only protection, but also revitalization.

Within the framework of the project, the preservation of the monument’s existing architectural characteristics, the strengthening of its structural elements, and the restoration of its historical appearance are envisaged. The proposed restoration solutions will contribute to preserving the architectural and cultural value of the monument for future generations.
